Before and after: guest bath

I love to work on bathroom remodels. They start and finsh quickly, which is great if you demand instant gratification. When giving a bathroom a facelift, it doesn't take much to up it a notch from what is typically done by the do-it-yourselfer. Here is a quick before and after of a client's guest bathroom with a simple update.

Before: Not an absolute eyesore, but it definitely needs some character.

After: wood, stone, tile, mirror, sconces, and a curtain valance finish the room. Mixing the fixture finishes (polished nickel, and antique bronze) keep the room from inheriting a mail-order/pre-fab look.

  3. Wow, huge improvement. I'm so glad you posted that pic, because it illustrates the look of wide plank flooring in a small space. I've been toying with the idea of doing it in my DIY powder room, and now I can see it works!

  4. What a killer bath face lift! Nicely done N. Fischer. If I wasn't already a designer...I'd hire you.
